30 Days of Thanksgiving – Days Eighteen, Nineteen, and Twenty (Way Behind, I Know)

I have sadly failed at keeping up-to-date with my 30 Days of Thanksgiving.  So here’s for catching up and being very thankful for patience and forgiveness. The Days Twenty-One through Today are coming up next!

Day Eighteen: The Essence of Thanksgiving – OMG!

“Creator of all who live and guide of who move, we give thanks for those times that Your work as creator providential provider causes us to gasp with praise and Thanksgiving, even if the only words we can utter are ‘Oh My God.’  Accept our Thanksgiving in that moment when no other words seem adequate.”  – Harold Armstrong

I an thankful for great doctors, incredible medical advances the continue to overcome disorders and diseases, and for the great health care I am blessed with.As you probably know,I am not in greatest of health, and it is through the collaboration of my incredibly intelligent doctors that I can function as perform as well as I do on a daily basis.  Thank God for them.

Day Nineteen: Remembering the Good

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” -Psalm 103:2
“Gratitude is born in the hearts that take time to count up past mercies.” – Charles E. Jefferson

I am thankful for all the blessings I have been given in my lifetime, especially those that I did not recognize as blessings until long after the they happened.  Perhaps those are the best kind of blessings – the ones you don’t recognize at the moment, but help you, and then as you look back, you can thank the Lord for the blessings He has given you and I.

Day Twenty: Enter into His Gates with Thanksgiving

“Enter his gates with Thanksgiving and His courts with praise.  Give thanks to Him; bless His name.  For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting, and His faithfulness to all generations.” -Psalms 100:4-5

Today, I am thankful for a few simple things – my heating pad, my comfortable bed, and cool house with warm blanks.  I am also thankful for Theraflu, which seems to work miracles on my cold-like symptoms.  I am thankful that in two days I felt much better through the grace of God and wonderful miracles of medicine.
